THE FRESH SHEET: Food & Drink Happenings (Feb. 4)

Proprietors Sean Heather and Scott Hawthorn won’t have the final legal documentation needed to open Judas Goat, their tiny Spanish-inspired wine, cheese, and charcuterie shop in Gastown’s Blood Alley, in time for the Olympics. They’ve therefore decided to delay the highly-anticipated sequel to their celebrated Salt Tasting Room (located right next door) until March. To keep up with the duo’s progress, check out their blog at NewsAltProject.blogspot.com.

Wondering where to watch the Superbowl on Sunday (Feb. 7)? Check out Red Card (900 Seymour, 604-689-4460, RedCardSportsBar.com), the new Euro-sports-themed restaurant and bar on the ground floor of the Moda Hotel, right next door to Uva Wine Bar. They’ll be showing the game on their 18 HD flatscreen TVs, and offering a special “Football Lover’s” pizza that includes Italian sausage, salami, bacon, and mozzarella, paired with a pint of American craft beer for only $15.

For the duration of the Olympic Games (Feb. 12-28), award-winning French restaurant Le Crocodile (909 Burrard, 604-669-4298, LeCrocodileRestaurant.com) will be extending its hours for the first time ever — from 11 a.m. to 11 .pm., seven days a week — to accommodate the massive influx of hungry visitors from abroard.
