Rhobus Room: Toronto-based painter James Lahey will be exhibiting his Guido’s Rhombus series (pictured, right) at Winsor Gallery (3025 Granville) to Feb. 28. Perhaps best known for his landscape paintings, Lahey has made a significant departure from his previous work with this collection of lozenge-shaped, brightly striped canvases inspired by his relationship with his mentor, Canadian abstract painter Guido Molinari.

Bike-curious? Bicycling enthusiasts and sex-positive activists will come together on Friday, Feb. 5 at One Two One Studios (121 Heatly), 8 pm for Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound, an evening of erotic short films that explore the apparent link between sex and cycling. Ashes to ashes, Duthie to Dust: Beloved independent bookseller Duthie Books announced last week that it would be shutting its doors for good at the end of this month. Friends, former employees, and customers are encouraged to attend an impromptu Irish wake for the dearly departed, aged 53, on Feb. 15 at Shebeen (212 Carrall), 7-11 pm. Tickets (including dinner and a drink) $20. Proceeds to benefit the Strathcona One to One Literacy program.
